Blinking 20 times in a row every 20 minutes combined with looking away from the screen for 20 seconds and focusing on an object 20 feet away can prevent eye strain in computer users. The ’20-20-20-20’ strategy has been designed as a solution to computer vision syndrome (CVS) which affects millions of workers and gamers who spend a lot of time in front of screen.
CVS symptoms – dry and tired eyes, headache, sore neck and painful wrists – are usually temporary but over use forces people to seek medical help.
