Sweet Corn is an excellent source of minerals and fibers.
Sweet corn is a good source of folate. Corn is a body
building food. It also helps protect against age-related macular degeneration.
Corn bran is a heart protector, when eaten everyday it can lower cholesterol in the body.
It provides more starch and more calories than most vegetables. Cornstarch can prevent diaper rash. Corn is also beneficial in anemia and constipation.
It is high in iron and potassium. It is also a good food for steadying blood sugar.
It contains carotene, which acts as our defense system that kicks out any kind of disease.
Sweet corn contains betacarotene, small amounts of vitamin B and vitamin C. It is a useful source of protein.
It is also a good source of many vitamins including Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), folate and niacin (vitamin B3). Corn was also determined to be a good source of dietary fibre, minerals, phosphorous & magnesium.
Corn is an excellent source of thiamin, providing one- third (32.7%) of the daily value for this nutrient in a single cup. Thiamin is an integral participant for memory.
Consumption of corn kernels assists the management of non insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) and is effective against hypertension.
Corn starch is used in the manufacture of many cosmetics and ay also be applied topically to soothen the skin rashes and irritations. Folate which is there in sweet corn controls a heart disease. The sweet substances in sweet corn helps in the increase of the memory power. During the time of stress, one can get relief by taking one cup of boiled sweet corn which works as an immediate stress reliever.
There are plenty of anti oxidants in sweet corn and these are good for the skin and keep away the factors which are responsible for cancer.
Fatty substances in the sweet corn are very less and the people who wish to control their body weight can take one cub of sweet corn daily during the night time which gives more strength to the body.
People who are anemic can take more quantity of sweet corn.
By taking more quantity of sweet corn by the people who are suffering from anemia and besides this constipation problem can also be prevented.
For the various reasons, the consumption of sweet corn is very necessary, as it has so many health benefits. It is a good idea to include sweet corn as a stable part of your diet to a considerable extends so as to maximize the benefits that you can glean from this food source.
