INTRODUCTION:
Black plum (Jambul) fruit trees mostly cultivated in India but it transported by Porchgreeses, so that these trees grown in America and Europe countries. Black plum in smaller size generally called as Katta jamoon, in large size is called Suva Jamoon. Black plum has high amount of Medicinal activites not only fruits, leaves, bark and roots also.
MEDICINAL ACTIVITIES:
Black plum contains Vitamin- c, R i b o f l a v i n, Thiamin and Pantothenic acid.
Black plum seeds have glycoside called Jambolin; this Jambolin avoids to convert carbohydrates to sugars, so that Diabetes is reduced.

Natural Benefits and Curative Properties:
Diabetes:
The jamful fruit is a traditional medicine has actions on pancreas.
Fruits, seeds and the fruit juice are useful in the treatment of diabetes.
The seeds contain glucose ‘Jamboline’ which is believed to have the power to check the pathological conversion of starch into sugar in cases of increased production of glucose.
The dried seed powder in doses of 3 g should be given 3-4 times a day mixed in water. It reduces the quantity of sugar in urine and alloys the unquenchable thirst.
In Ayurveda, the inner bark of the jambul tree is also used in the treatment of diabetes.
The bark is dried and burnt (white colored ash will produced ). This ash was pasted in the mortar, strained and bottled. The diabetic patient should be given 65 mg of the ash on an empty stomach with water in the morning and 135 mg each time in the afternoon and in the evening an hour after meals, if the specific gravity of urine is 1.02 to 1.03. If the specific gravity ranges between 1.035 and 1.055, the ash should be given thrice daily in the quantity of about 2 gram at a time.
Polyuria:
The seed powder produces polyuria (production of excess
urine).
It should be taken in dose of 1gm twice daily.
Diarrhoea and Dysentery:
The seed powder is an effective remedy fort diarrhea and dysentery.
About 5 to 10 gm of this powder should be taken with butter milk in these conditions.
The infusion of these leaves are rich in Gallic and tannic acid is also given as a medicine in diarrhea and dysentery.
This infusion, prepared from 30 to 60 gm of leaves, should be given twice or thrice daily.
A decoction of the bark with honey is useful in chronic diarrhea and dysentery.
These seeds help in increasing insulin secretion from the pancreas.
The seed powder helps to treat liver, kidney disorders and piles.
These fruits improve digestion and liver function.
Black plums reduce dental decay.
The fruits improve Immunity power.
CONCLUSION:
Black plum fruits, seeds, leaves and roots have high medicinal activites. Jamul fruits helps high digestion and reduce water wastage and high thirsty. It improves high gastric juices and enzymes secretion.
