Heat Can K.O. Your Medicine

“ Ishtar ,” the classic starring Warren Beatty and Dustin Hoffman as musicians stumbling around the Moroccan  desert may have melted down because someone’s medications couldn’t stand the scorching heat.

Turns out, at temperatures above 30°C, many drugs lose their effectiveness since their active ingredients become less stable and less potent. So, 25°C. They can go as low as 15°C or as high as 30°C for only brief periods of time.

Remember to keep meds with you when you fly, not in checked baggage. Never put yours ,meds in a car trunk and replace meds that get over heated.

If your pharmacy has been without air conditioning for a while, it’s a good idea to get your prescriptions from someplace that stayed cooler!
