The DM Wayanad Institute of Medical Sciences (DM-WIMS) promoted by DM Education & Research Foundation is envisaged to become an important destination for Medical Education and Treatment in India, Providing Graduate and Post Graduate Programs and Research facilities in Medicine, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy, Paramedical and in various Allied Health subjects.
DM-WIMS is located in 50 acres of scenic land on the serene green hills of Wayanad at Meppadi with state of the art infrastructure and 12,00,000 square feet built up area. The WIMS hospital will have 300 beds to start which will be increased to 700 beds in 5 years. The phase I of the project DM-WIMS Medical College & Hospital, foundation stone for which was laid by Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Oomen Chandy, is already under construction with the hospital shall be functioned by this year and first batch of students shall be admitted in 2013.
